Despite its liberalization telecommunications market in Greece is still dominated by former monopoly OTE. It accounts for the largest share in fixed-line telephony sphere. Finally, LLU was deployed, and competition in the sphere has become healthier. Nowadays OTE offers up to 24 Mbit/s connection speed for download, and is characterized by reliable technical support. As to its alternatives, they offer cheaper services and identical speed, but have poor service. The most popular ISPs in Greece are Otenet (namely, OTE), Forthnet, Vivodi Telecom, Hellas On Line and Tellas. ADSL service is also provided by Vodafone subsidiary.
